MIFUMI WOMEN’S NETWORK- JCMG

Bride price traps women in relationships that they cant get out from

About this Network

MIFUMI Women’s Network (MWN) is an exciting platform enabling women from across Uganda to join their voices in pressing for an urgent end to harmful practices such Violence Against Women and Children, Bride Price and Polygamy.

Through this initiative, MIFUMI is looking to reduce the instances of Violence against Women and Children in the target Communities of Tororo, Budaka, and Bukedea in Uganda. MIFUMI believes that this is possible with the establishment of a dynamic movement of Women Rights Champions comprising various stakeholders who will positively influence Gender Equality, Women Empowerment, Prevention and Response to Violence against women and children in the identified communities.

Using social and traditional media, women will spur social action to enable the enjoyment of the right to live their lives free of violence.

This three-year project funded by The Jo Cox Foundation and the Department for International Development (DFID) will reach and engage over 6,000 people by September 2022
